Purpose of the Richmond Chapter

Mary M. Bethune Alumni & Associates

The purpose of this organization shall be to bring together in a common bond former students and teachers of the former Mary M. Bethune High School, Halifax Training School, and other schools which were established for providi8ng high school education for black residents in the Halifax County-South Boston area; (2) provide financial assistance (scholarship or awards) to Halifax County-South Boston High School graduates to pursue education or training beyond high school; (3) promote involvement of the memebers in educational, political, civic and religious causes in Halifax County-South Boston; and (4) support the purpose of the Mary M. Bethune Alumni and Associates.
